Gillespie County is hosting this year's 138th fair! It's the oldest continuous county fair in Texas.
Check out the antique tractor pull and the 42 domino tournament (which I've never seen before so I'll be stopping by to watch).
There will be livestock shows, contests, goat roping, and horse races as well as other agriculture-related exhibits. Check the website for entry details if you want to participate.
Of course there's a carnvial and midway.
From the website under "concessions": All food and beverages must be purchased with tickets. 1 ticket = $1. Beer/Wine (limit of 2 per person) are 5 tickets each. Sodas are 2 tickets. Water is 1 ticket.
Per the "FAQ" on the website - No dogs allowed. No coolers allowed. You can bring a lawn chair.

Something a little different for Valentines this year can be had out at the vineyard including Safari Wine Tours, a ride up in a tethered hot-air balloon (extra ticket required) or even a night-time glow ride, grape stomping, tasty food and wine sampling for purchase. It's family-friendly fun if you want to bring the little ones. The vineyard also offers camping passes if you'd like to stay the weekend (see website for pricing/availability).
Please note that the hot air balloon rides are dependent upon the weather and wind conditions.

National Museum of the Pacific War
The National Museum of the Pacific War is celebrating the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II. There will be a moment of silence and an exhibit about bombings (atomic) and to honor those who lost their lives.
While you're visiting, check out The Manhattan Project at Nimitzplatz at 340 E. Main St (Free) to learn about the Atomic Bomb and about the people who made it.

Re-live the Pacific Combat Zone of World War II with re-enactments set on a Pacific island with US Marine actors, weapons demonstrations and simulations, and tanks. Lots of photo-ops. Sounds cool if you enjoy being immersed in history.
